Soysauce Chicken Recipe


Ingredients:

  • Half of the chicken 
  • 2.5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2.5 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tbsp five-spice powder
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • Sesame seeds (optional)


Instructions:

Marinate the chicken:

  1. Combine soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, honey, sugar, garlic, five-spice powder, and white pepper in a bowl. 
  2. Add the chicken thighs and coat them thoroughly in the marinade. 
  3. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for better flavor. 

Cook the chicken:

Air fryer method:

  1. Place the chicken in the air fryer, skin side facing up. 
  2. Cook at 380°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). 

Oven method:

  1. Place the chicken on a baking sheet, skin side facing up. 
  2. Bake at 420°F (220°C) for 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). 

Stovetop method:

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Sear the chicken thighs, skin side down, for 2 minutes. 
  3. Flip the chicken and sear for another 2 minutes. 
  4. Pour in the marinade and reduce heat to low-medium. 
  5. Cover and simmer for 7 minutes. 
  6. Flip the chicken, cover, and simmer for another 7 minutes. 
  7. Flip again so the skin is up and baste with the sauce. 

Serve:

  1. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds (optional).
  2. Serve with rice and vegetables.
