Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/2 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 1/4 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Sesame seeds (for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Cook the Filling
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned. Add the onions, bell peppers, garlic, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Continue cooking until the vegetables are softened. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
3. Prepare the Puff Pastry
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet. Cut the sheet into rectangles.
4. Fill the Pastry
Place a spoonful of the meat mixture on one end of each rectangle, leaving space around the edges. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the filling.
5. Seal the Rolls
Brush the edges of each rectangle with the beaten egg. Fold the pastry over the filling to form a roll, then press the edges firmly to seal.
6. Add Toppings
Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the remaining egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds over them.
7. Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
8. Serve
Serve the puff pastry rolls warm and enjoy their flaky, cheesy goodness!
