Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- Optional: additional toppings (bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the beef and sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the pizza sauce and Italian seasoning, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, layer the beef mixture evenly on the bottom.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the beef mixture.
- Arrange the sliced pepperoni and any other desired toppings evenly over the cheese layer.
- Spread the frozen tater tots in an even layer over the top of the casserole.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden and crispy.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
