Cheesy Tater Tot Casserole


Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 (10-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 pound frozen tater tots


Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Transfer the cooked ground beef and onion to a 9x9-inch casserole dish, spreading it evenly on the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of seasoned salt evenly over the beef mixture.
  5. Spread the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
  6. Spoon the cream of chicken soup over the cheese layer, spreading it evenly.
  7. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the soup layer.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of seasoned salt over the tater tots.
  9. Cover the casserole dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy and the casserole is heated through.
  11. Serve immediately.
