Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup jam (strawberry, raspberry, or your choice)
Preparation:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until smooth.
- Gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Drop spoonfuls of jam onto the batter and swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
